Case Study

Urgent.ly , a D.C. based startup app that offers roadside assistance with Uber like technology, turned to Scott Circle to execute a public relations strategy that would raise their profile, increase downloads and help attract funding.

In order to secure media coverage for Urgent.ly, Scott Circle researched technology, travel, auto, family, business and consumer reporters – spanning broadcast, radio, print and online outlets – reaching out to them with targeted and personalized pitches around company announcements and partnerships.

Scott Circle also pitched one-on-one introductory “get to know you” meetings with reporters from outlets that potential users read and listen to regularly. At these meetings, Urgent.ly’s CEO and senior leadership team introduced the app to reporters and positioned themselves as a resource and expert for future stories on the sharing economy.

Through proactive pitching, one-on-one meetings and strategic follow up with outlets that covered similar apps and the sharing economy, Scott Circle secured coverage for Urgent.ly in CNN Tech, Yahoo Tech, Tech Crunch, TIME magazine, Washington Post, DC Inno and many others. Since Urgent.ly brought on the Scott Circle team, Urgent.ly has seen over 100,000 interactions since its national launch in January 2015.
